We spread our creative swiss network over Budapest. During the «Budapest Design Week» and within the facilities of the Printa Académia, the young art association will provide you with some of Switzerland most talented artists. Dealing with different surfaces, techniques – acrylic, ink, silkscreen or spraypaint on canvas, wood, paper, card- and skateboards – and changing contexts, the works on display at the «swiss urban salon» will deliver you with a vivid insight into «urban art». «The influences range from graffiti to skateboarding, from punk-rock to graphic design and have a major impact on the different creative powers and ideas these artists represent», says Patrick Urwyler the curator of «artacks».

The city acts as the common basis of «urban art» and their protagonists. Concerning the concept behind the «salon», Urwyler explains with a slight smile: «As a phenomenon «urban art» can be described as an updated version of the famous impressionists – a loosely tied group of artists, once called the ‘painters of modern life’ by Charles Baudelaire, the poet, who was an important critic of the «Salon-Exhibitions» in Paris.» The «swiss urban salon» with its «painters of contemporary life» presents artworks, that visualize everyday life of the 21st century in a skillful and mind blowing way. At the same time people are provided with art, which they can access and understand with ease.
